New Valentine's Day Fabric headbands

I just love the new fabrics I am working with for this year's Valentine's line. Are you a pink person? I am for sure, but I also really enjoy purple for a bit of change. As a nod to all of you who get a little tired of the Pinkalicious scene, I hunted down this bold light-purple fabric with white hearts by fabric designer Michael Miller.

For the pink camp, you are sure to love this petite chevron pink-on-pink by Moda fabrics.

Your loved one will be totally sweet in one of these fabric covered headbands. And look-alike or not, her AG doll can be matchies by sporting a matching doll headband.

Silhouettes

I've played around with creating custom silhouettes digitally using Adobe Illustrator.  I start with a digital photo, creating an outline using the pen tool.  I love the way they look!  Of course they pale in comparison to the artwork that silhouette artists create with paper and scissors, which is what I have on my mantle, but this is a fun project that I have enjoyed exploring and doing for friends.

Owl Silhouette Project

Grey Wrought Iron Bed - From Big Box to Couture

In this project, we take a brand new reproduction wrought iron bed purchased from an online outfit and gift it with the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint treatment.  The result is a customized, couture piece that complements a carefully styled renovated Arlington home. Together with the clients, we decided to paint the bed in Paris Grey by Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  We then protected the finish with two coats of Annie Sloan's Clear Wax.  This photo of the completed project gives you a glimpse of the silky and smooth finish achieved through the paint process with Annie Sloan's product line. I absolutely adore this bed purchased by the client from wayfair.com .  The name of the bed seems to change, but at the moment is called the LaRoche Panel Bed in Aged Bronze.  We were amazed by the white glove treatment by the Wayfair delivery team.  While we love the current color of the bed, the sheen of the finish gives away its reproduction/Big Box Store pedigree...
